The educational publication is intended to study the computer science course at the basic level in 10 grades of educational institutions. The content of the textbook is based on a course of computer science studied in grades 7–9. The theoretical foundations of computer science, hardware and computer software, computer networks, algorithmization and programming, information security are considered. The textbook is included in the training set (CMC), which also includes a textbook for grade 11 and a computer workshop.

The widespread use of the resources of the portal of the Federal Center for Electronic Educational Resources corresponds to the Federal State Educational Standard of Secondary (Complete) General Education (2012) and the approximate basic educational program of secondary general education.
