David Ostin roses in Russia. Esipko O.A.
The English roses of David Austin appeared in Russia relatively recently, but are already grown by numerous amateur pinkovs in many regions. These roses attract attention with beautiful terry flowers with a strong aroma, and a harmonious bush, and quite high winter hardiness, which is important for many northern and eastern regions of Russia. Over the more than half -century history, D. Ostin has created more than 200 varieties of English roses, most of which are real masterpieces. But which of these varieties are most acceptable for the regions of Russia with substantially variable climatic conditions? The reader will find answers in this book to this and some other questions.
for this used:
- observations of the collection of roses of D. Ostin (30 varieties);
- statistical analysis of data on popular and favorite varieties in Russia;
-the results of an expert assessment of varieties according to the scheme proposed by the author, obtained by 25 amateur pinks in 14 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The final chapter shows examples of gardens in which the roses of D. Ostin-from Karelia in the north to the North Caucasus grow in the south, from the environs of St. Petersburg in the west and central regions (Yaroslavskaya, Tula) to the Middle Urals and the south of Siberia in the east.
