Drawing a figure. Lumis E.
“We will draw naked figures to better understand how to draw them in clothes. Think of figures as objects with mass and volume, illuminated and therefore possessing a shadow - in other words, objects placed in the space familiar to us. Learn to see the nature of the light - how it affects the form, on its plane, falling in various directions. We will separately study the head of a person and its structure. In other words, here you will find the foundations, based on which you will draw the original and convincing figures of a person. Interpretation, type, poses, experiences, clothes and jewelry - everything will be yours. No matter what you draw - advertising, illustration for the book, poster or calendar - the basics do not change.
The technique is not as important as young artists usually think. Life and emotions, ideals that you invest in work are much more important. And of course, your taste is important when choosing clothes and background - provided that you have mastered the basics. Even the most fashionable clothing does not look on a poorly drawn figure. Experiences and emotions cannot be shown with the wrong building of the face. You can not make color illustrations without knowledge about light and shades, just like you can even hope to get a good composition if you do not own knowledge about perspective. Your task as an artist in advertising is to praise and idealize what surrounds you. My task is to help you until the need for my help is disappeared. After that, you will go yourself. ”
