The book is the third volume of the four -volume publication of Max Weber's Labor “Economy and Society”. This is the first complete translation of the famous composition into Russian. This volume includes two works devoted to the sociology of law.
In the first of them, the article “economy and orders”, the author characterizes the differences in the sociological and legal approaches to the study of social processes, describes the specifics of normative systems (orders) of different levels and shows the features of their impact on the economy.
In the second work, “conditions for the development of law”, the formation and development of legal systems (primarily the three “great systems of law”: Roman, English and European continental) is considered in the context of changes in the organization of economics and structures of dominance. The law acts here as a powerful factor in the rationalization of social life, in turn, subject to rationalizing influence of economy and social management.
The publication is intended for sociologists, lawyers, political scientists, historians, generally for specialists of a wide range of social and humanities, as well as for a circle of readers interested in the problems of the social and cultural development of our time.
