The manual is intended for schoolchildren preparing to surrender the exam in social studies and enters into universities of the humanitarian profile. It includes materials in all sections of social studies and meets the requirements of the federal state educational standard. The manual was developed on the basis of the course read by the author for applicants of the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov (2000 - 2006) and applicants of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (2014), as well as on the basis of personal experience with applicants.

The book is a revised and updated version of the popular “manual for applicants to universities”, which has withstood four publications in the Iris-Press publishing house in 2007-2012.
