Maria-Louise von Franz, perhaps the most famous of the students of Karl Gustav Jung. A devoted follower of Jungian psychology, von Franz, relying on the ideas of her teacher, managed to form her individual and recognizable handwriting, gaining wide fame as the main pioneer in the method of psychological interpretation of folklore and mythological plots.
The fundamental idea of Jungianism, which consists in distinguishing between the collective and individual unconscious, as well as the establishment of parallel between them, becomes the help for the research method von Franz, addressing folklore material as a product of a collective unconscious and conducting an analogy between allegorical images and The plots, on the one hand, and problems familiar to us from the actual experience, on the other.
