View (3)
The book includes the poems of Joseph Brodsky, dedicated to Rome, excerpts from the essays and letters with comments by the compiler, as well as Roman drawings, postcards and Brodsky Italian interviews that were not previously published in Russian. The book also reflects the period of Brodsky’s stay at the American Academy. It was then that the poet conceived, as at one time, Gogol, to establish in Rome the Russian Academy for young Russian scientists and artists. The idea of the founding of the Russian analogue on the model of the American Academy is a project for which he actively took up his death. As an application, selected materials from the archive of a close friend of the poet Gianni Buttafava are published as an application.
