The textbook was processed in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education, approximate programs for academic subjects and fully covers the issues of literature for the main school. New topics were introduced (in particular, R. Burns’s poem “I don’t get up at dawn”, the story of A. Conan Doyle “Blue Carbuncle”), concepts, terms, definitions, as well as tasks of different levels of complexity.
