Two -volume university course “Modern Russian literary language” by the famous domestic linguist A.N. Gvozdev (1892-1959) - the phenomenon in the Russian -born of the second half of the 20th century is quite unique. Unlike most other university theoretical courses, which are usually the result of collective activity - this is the work of one author, respectively characterized by the unity of the design and conceptual integrity.
In addition to lexicology, the consideration of which was also conceived by the author in the long term, a textbook of A. N. Gvozdeva covers all sections of the course "Modern Russian Language". The first part of it - “phonetics and morphology” - includes the “spelling” section correlated with the problems of phonetics; Morphemics and word formation issues are considered in connection with morphology. The second part is devoted to syntax and punctuation.
