My family and other animals. Darrell J.

“My family and other animals” is “a book that is literally fascinating the word” and “The most delightful idyll that you can imagine” (The New Yorker). With unchanging love, impeccable accuracy and inimitable humor, Darrell talks about the five -year stay of his family (including Larry's older brother, that is, Lawrence Darrell, the future author of the famous “Alexandrian Quartet”) on the Greek Island of Corfu. Both this novel itself, and its sequels diverged around the world with multimillion -dollar circulations, became table books already with several generations of readers, and in England they even entered the school curriculum. The “Corfu Trilogy” was transferred three times to the television screen, and the last time in 2016, when the British company ITV released the first season of the Darrelli series, one of the director of which was Edward Hall (“Abbey Daunton”, Miss Marl Agatha Christie).
The novel is published in a new full translation made by Sergei Taska, whose translations of Tom Wulf and John Le Carre, Stephen King and Paul Oster, Ian Mcueen, Richard Yates and Francis Scott Fitzgerald have already become classic.
