Niro Wolfe, a passionate collector of an orchid, a big gourmet, a beer lover and a great detective, almost never leaves the house. He unravels all crimes on the basis of the facts that Archie Goodwin collects, his charming, ironic assistant with excellent memory. One evening, an unfamiliar girl is to Wulf and from the threshold states that she is going to live in his house for some time. Wolf puts an uninvited guest out into the street, and in the morning he finds out that the girl was killed. And since he believes that there is no client - there is no case, Archie is taken up for the investigation, but as a result he is in bars.
