Phantom of the Opera. Leru G.
“The ghost of the opera really existed” - one of the most sensational French novels of the turn of the XIX -XX centuries is devoted to evidence of this thesis. He belongs to the Peru Gaston Lerus, the master of the police novel, the author of the famous "Secrets of the Yellow Room", "The Spirits of the Lady in Black." But according to the genre of “The Ghost of the Opera”, closer to the traditions of the Gothic novel, to the “Parisian Secrets” of Eugene X. From the first to the last page, Lerus holds the reader in tension. Perhaps it is here that one of the reasons for the fact that this plot in the 20th century has repeatedly received a new embodiment, it is enough to recall the film of the same name, as well as the musical Andrew Lloyd Weber.
