The textbook is intended for students with intellectual disorders and ensures the implementation of the requirements of the adapted basic general educational program in the subject area “Language and speech practice” in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the Education of Students with Intellectual Disorders. The textbook implements continuity in the selection and structuring of artistic and scientific and artistic texts in accordance with the principles of thematic and genre diversity presented in the textbook for grade 5.

The structure of each of the 13 sections of the textbook is built in such a way that in the first introductory lesson, the knowledge and representations on the topic of the section are revealed, the latter - the knowledge gained during the analysis and analysis of the content of the read works is fixed and systematized. In order to improve the reading technique, each of the sections includes the section “Read yourself!”.

the main purpose of the issues and tasks presented to all works of the textbook is to correct the shortcomings of the cognitive activity of students with intellectual disorders and, above all, and, above all -the development of mental and speech activity, communicative skills, spiritual and moral consciousness.
