The manual includes tasks in the Russian language of high levels of complexity, which are aimed at deepening and expanding the knowledge and skills system of fourth graders and preparing for the Russian language Olympiads in elementary school. The tasks are grouped according to the blocks: “folklore”, “poetic notebook”, “literary fairy tales”, “funny stories”, “nature and we”, “country of fantasy”.

Each block contains tasks on phonetics, morphemics, vocabulary, morphology, syntax, spelling, work with text. Tasks in the “vocabulary” section in separate blocks are supplemented by tasks aimed at addressing the etymology of the word, to study the phraseological characteristics of the language. The manual is integrated. Materials for analysis are not only linguistic tasks - the content is correlated with the sections of the Literary Reading program for grade 4. This contributes to the formation in students of meaningful reading skills. Some tasks of the manual are accompanied by an indication of the use of additional materials that will help students find the right answer.
