The book is designed to develop reading and writing skills in children. The manual is divided into several parts. The first part is acquaintance with the Russian alphabet and syllables. For each letter, a separate page with prescriptions and interesting tasks is provided for working out writing skills. The second part is simple texts for reading and fairy tales that will carry away the child. The third part is poems, counters, jokes and tongue twisters for the development of oral speech. The fourth part are texts of various topics with tasks that suggest short and detailed answers. Such tasks are aimed at the formation and development of semantic reading skills.

This publication is intended for children who begin to study Russian at school. The manual is also recommended for teachers and parents to form and develop the initial reading skills in children.
