Henry Harrer (1912–2006) –– Austrian climber, traveler and writer. His book “Seven years in Tibet (my life at the Dalai Lama court), first published in German in 1952, was translated into 53 languages ​​and served as the basis for two films: the British documentary of 1956 and the famous American feature film 1997 years with Brad Pitt in the title role. Thanks to this publication, the Russian reader will first get acquainted with the full text of the book by Heinrich Harrera translated from German. The author’s intonation and the structure of the text are carefully preserved. For the first time, photographs taken during this trip are published.
