The textbook was created in accordance with the requirements of the historical and cultural standard and the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education. It covers the key problems and main events of the history of Russia from the XVI to the end of the XVII century. Given modern scientific research, the authors show the process of transition from fragmented Russian principalities to a single and multinational Russian state. The events of Russian history are highlighted as part of the world historical process.
