This textbook on algebra continues the line of educational and methodological complexes "Areas" in mathematics, begun by textbooks for grades 5–6. In the meaningful plan, the textbook material is aimed at the formation of central algebraic concepts and the development of the ability to use them in solving both mathematical problems and applied problems. The main features of the textbook are the format fixed in thematic reversals, laconicism and rigid structure of the text, the structuralness of the exercise system, a diverse illustrative series. The methodological apparatus of the manual allows you to organize the educational activities of students in a new way and increase their cognitive activity, to form positive motivation for learning. Historical fragments are organically included in the explanatory text, emphasizing the significance of the question being studied and showing the mutual impact of the development of mathematics and social progress, making the material studied more interesting. The system of exercises is divided into two levels: the first ensures the formation of knowledge and skills of students, the second allows students to advance to a higher level. The publication was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education.
