The proposed textbook is included in the line of textbooks “Living Nature” for grades 5-9, which is based on a system-structural approach as the main condition for developing learning. The textbook preserves an unconventional structure and methodological apparatus adopted in all textbooks of this line. Cultural positions are strengthened, an emphasis on sexual education (the difference in physical exertion, metabolism, anatomical and morphological characteristics of the male and female body, readiness for motherhood and paternity, etc.) are strengthened. The psychological characteristics of students of this age group are taken into account, numerous techniques of self -control, introspection, aimed at maintaining health and the practical application of theoretical knowledge in everyday life were proposed. Corresponds to the federal component of state educational standards of basic general education (2010). Recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
