The textbook is intended for children with disabilities and implements the requirements of the adapted basic general education program in the subject area "Art"; In accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the Education of Students with Intellectual Disorders.

The educational and methodological material of this textbook helps to develop aesthetic perception in children and form images of objects and phenomena of surrounding reality in the process of their cognition, to develop first-graders an interest in fine art, to teach image methods in drawing, modeling, work on application, as well as form technical skills in working with different art materials taking into account the capabilities of children. At the end of the textbook, methodological pages and symbols for the teacher are placed.

The textbook presents samples of creative tasks, which should be proposed by students in the form of handout, prepared by the teacher independently or on the basis of materials posted in electronic form of the textbook.
