The textbook is part of the UMK Butuzova V.F. “Moscow State University - School” (basic and in -depth levels).

The textbook is written in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education and is intended for both the basic and for the specialized level. The procedure for presenting the material in the textbook differs from the order of presentation in the well -known textbooks L. S. Atanasyan and others, as well as A.V. Pogorelov. So, when studying the mutual arrangement of straight lines in space, first the perpendicularity of lines and planes is considered, and then parallelism. The theme of "Coordinates and vectors" is classified at the end of the textbook. The material intended for the profile level is marked with an asterisk.

Another important feature of the textbook is a carefully thought -out selection of a task material. Tasks for each paragraph are located in the order of increasing complexity. For each topic, two similar tasks with the same number of problems are given, respectively, for solving in the lesson and at home. The textbook also has additional tasks for each chapter, tasks of increased difficulty, tasks with practical content, tasks for preparing for the exam, research tasks for the most powerful students.

The textbook uses the visual and illustrative opportunities of learning as much as possible. Evidence of theorems is well illustrated, many drawings are equipped with signatures that allow the student to figure out the prove the theorem without even reading the main text of the book. Along with drawings, there are slides showing the real prototypes of certain geometric concepts. The textbook contains a detailed historical certificate that reflects the stages of development of geometry and the role of great scientists in its formation. The list of literature and links to Internet resources will allow students to continue independently studying geometry, prepare abstracts and reports whose topics are proposed in the textbook.
