The textbook is designed to study the course “Informatics” in the 6th grade of a comprehensive school. It is part of the educational-methodical kit in computer science for grades 5–9, including the author’s program, textbooks, workbooks, electronic applications and methodological manuals for the teacher. The textbooks of grades 5-6 presents an introduction to the subject involving further study of the computer science course in grades 7–9. The theoretical material of the textbook is supported by the detailed apparatus of the organization of the assimilation of the studied material, including questions, tasks and tasks for practical implementation, a description of the work of a computer workshop. The development of universal educational actions, competencies in the field of using information and communication technologies, the formation of algorithmic and information culture are ensured.
