The textbook is part of the educational and methodological sets of the L. M. Rybchenkova line in the Russian language for the main comprehensive school. It was created in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of basic general education. A distinctive feature of the textbook is the formation of functional literacy, the selection of texts from classical and modern literature in accordance with the age characteristics of students.
