The textbook is written on the basis of the work program for the technology of the authors of E. A. Luttseva and T.P. Zueva, compiled in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Primary General Education, the concept of spiritual and moral development and education of the personality of a citizen of Russia. Its content and methodological apparatus implement modern requirements for personal, meta -subject and objective learning outcomes in elementary school.

The textbook helps to cultivate respect for the masters, work and its results, to form an elementary technical and technological knowledge and skills, to develop the basics of creative activity qualitatively and consistently. Practical work in grade 1 is built in such a way as to prepare students for further project activities. Experisively, students study the studied materials and tools, formulate their properties. The built system of working with memos teaches children to the correct algorithms for the manufacture of products.
