The textbook is intended for children with disabilities and implements the requirements of the adapted basic general education program in the subject area "Natural Science" in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the Education of Students with Intellectual Disorders. The main task of the Line of the CMC “The World of Nature and Man” for grades 1–4 is the propaedeutics of teaching subjects of the natural science.

Students gain initial knowledge about living and inanimate nature, study the simplest relationships that exist between the world of nature and man, learn to observe, analyze, interact with the outside world, show interest and careful attitude to the living.

This line of the teaching materials was created on the basis of the previously current objective line “Living World”, the content of which was expanded in connection with the inclusion in the section of the section on society and a person in it. Particular attention is paid to the formation of the life competencies of students and the enrichment of their social experience.
