The manual is intended for students of educational organizations. It is aimed at phased training of first -graders to solve problems. The material of the manual is presented in a certain system. The child learns to listen and read the text, present it in a given form (“We read the text, answer the question, make a drawing”), work with the structure of the problem (“Matching the task”), find a solution to and streamline our actions to find an answer (“We plan to plan The decision ”), write down the decision (“ Record the decision and answer ”). The solution is provided for the model and independently different types of tasks traditionally studied in the first grade (“solve yourself”): to find the sum and the balance, for comparison and equalization, to addition and subtraction, increase and decrease by several units, as well as logical tasks. The tasks contained in the manual contribute to understanding the purpose of reading, the formation of the ability to highlight essential relationships and dependencies in the task, the development of logical and informational skills.

Working with the manual will allow the student to further work independently with new types of tasks, “open” and construct other solutions on the basis of the studied.
