The manual is intended for the formation and assessment of reader literacy, which is part of functional literacy and is studied in the international comparative study of PISA. It is recommended for the use of teachers in the lessons and in extracurricular activities for training purposes, as well as the school administration to organize intra-school monitoring of the functional literacy of students 12-13 years. The structure of the manual: the manual contains an appeal to the student, explaining the nature and purpose of the proposed tasks. The manual describes the general approaches to the assessment of reader literacy and proposed measuring materials. The first part of the manual gives an example of a training task (block of tasks, work based on text) with a commented response and clarifying the main approaches to assessing the execution of the assignment for students 12-13 years. The second part of the manual proposes tasks for the independent work of students and answers to tasks, formulated as the basis for self -testing. What this manual will teach: * to understand how the text works, how the author builds his reasoning, what goals pursues. * Evaluate the quality of information and draw your own conclusions. * Focus on the structure of texts of different types and formats. * Apply the information received in solving a wide range of life problems.
