The textbook is intended to study the subject "Literary reading in the native (Russian) language", which is part of the subject area "Native language and literary reading in the native language." The manual introduces second -graders to the works of Russian literature, which most clearly reflects the Russian national character, customs, traditions of the Russian people. Each of the problem-thematic blocks of the textbook contains key concepts that reflect the spiritual and material culture of the Russian people in their historical relationship. Working with a teaching aid contributes to the enrichment of students' speech, the development of their speech culture and communicative competence.
