The epic novel “War and Peace” by Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy (1828–1910), perhaps one of the main books of not only Russian, but also world literature. This is a full -scale picture of Russia's life in the era of Napoleonic wars of 1805-1812. And, of course, the author in such a voluminous work teaches many lessons.
The fourth volume is a repetition of the resulting and summing up. What does the writer teach us? He teaches us to patriotism as an intimate feeling of deep involvement in his people, his country in its past, present and future. He teaches us to appreciate the family as a moral support in the earthly being of man. He teaches us to be, and not to seem, to listen to the voice of his conscience, and not to the opinion of others. This is the only way to become truly free.
He teaches us to love life in "countless, never exhausted by all its manifestations." This is the most difficult. And for this, it was worth writing the novel "War and Peace." And for this it is worth reading it.
