Waves in magnetoactive plasma. Ginzburg V.L.
View (2)
The consistent theory of the spread of electromagnetic waves in plasma is settled. Plasma is considered as a material environment not only with frequency, but also by spatial dispersion, general issues of the linear electrodynamics of the media with spatial dispersion, as well as various models used to describe the uninterrupted plasma and their applicability areas, are discussed. Classes of particles in completely ionized and poorly ionized plasma are taken into account. The model described by the kinetic equation is discussed in detail. Based on this model, the dielectric permeability of isotropic and anisotropic plasma in the absence of external fields is calculated. The question of plasma behavior in the external electric field is also highlighted.
The central place in the book is occupied by the study of the spread of waves in plasma. Waves in homogeneous and isotropic plasma are considered in the absence of external fields, then waves in a homogeneous magnetoactive plasma (cold and hot). The stability of homogeneous anisotropic plasma is discussed.
The latest paragraphs of the book are devoted to very pressing issues - waves in heterogeneous and nonequilibrium plasma and stability of the magnetic retention of plasma.
The book is recommended for a wide circle of physicists - students, teachers, scientists.
