Ayko Kadono wrote her first stories about Kiki in 1985. Inspired by the success and numerous literary awards of Japan, she continued the story of a young witch - to the joy of fans, among whom was the Great Hayao Miyazaki, who created his animated masterpiece of 1989 on the basis of Kadono's books. And in 2014, a full -length feature film was released. In 2018, Aiko Kadono received the Hans of Christian Andersen as the best children's writer.
