The History of Spain is an outstanding monument of medieval historiography, one of the first Western European chronicles written in spoken (medieval Castilian) language. The History of Spain was compiled under the leadership of King Castile and Leon Alfonso X Wise (1252-1284) and covers the period from the settlement of Spain with the legendary Hercules to the middle of the 13th century. The third volume included the final chapters of the chronicle (H02-1135), telling about events since the middle of the XI century. They cover the time from the beginning of the reign of King Castile and Leon Fernando I (1037-1065) to the death of Fernando III Holy (1217-1252), the father of the wise king, who appears in the last chapters of the monument.
The book is addressed to medical scientists, specialists in the history and culture of Spain, students and all those interested in the history of the Western European Middle Ages.
